Conference on META-FIESTA 2017 held at MS University

VADODARA: A one-day conference titled 'META-FIESTA 2017' of the Department of the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering of MS University's Faculty of Technology and Engineering was recently organised by the Society of Metallurgical Engineering Students.The inaugural function witnessed presence of YS Trivedi , senior vice president of L&T as chief guest while professor K Baba Pai, director of ITM Universe, Vadodara, was the guest of honour.The function was held at the auditorium of the chemical engineering department of the faculty.During the programme, students from MSU, Indus Institute of Technology, ITM Universe, Vadodara, GEC Gandhinagar presented paper in various technical sessions.Researchers from academic, R & D and from various industries like L & T Ltd, TCR Advanced Ltd, GSFC, and Bechtel India also participated in the technical event.More than 40 technical papers related to corrosion and its protection techniques, metal joining techniques, advanced materials including nano- materials, ceramic, refractory and composite materials physical metallurgy among others were presented during the programme.In the later part of the day, a startup pitching session which witnessed presence of alumni of the department was also held.Paresh Haribhakti, managing director of TCR Advanced Engineering Limited, Chirag Sompura, managing director of Plutus Corporation, Ankleshwar, Rakesh Patil from L& T Sargent and Lundy Limited, Vadodara were amongst those who attended the session.
