Barodian to coach Indian women for cricket world cup

Vadodara: When the Indian women's team takes on the world's best teams in the 50-over cricket World Cup this year, a Gujarati will be making it sure that give their best performance on the field.Former Ranji cricketer, Tushar Arothe, a Barodian, has been appointed as the coach of the Indian women's team.He has been roped in as the coach again after his first stint with the team earned him appreciation from the women's team."It's a big opportunity for me. He said that he will join the team later this month and then they will fly to South Africa on May 1. Indian eves will play with South Africa, Zimbabwe and Ireland there. When asked the improvements he would like to bring in the team, Arothe said that he would like to work on the fielding of the players. "We also need to improve our batting and bowling in the death overs," 50-year-old Arothe said.He was appointed as coach of the Baroda Ranji team last year but he had to resign due to conflict of interest as his son was selected in the team as a probable.
