Vadodara: Vadoara rural police arrested a 19-year-old girl, her mother and her minor brother for allegedly murdering her step-father in Vemardi village of Karjan taluka on Monday. The accused told the police that the man used to molest her.Kavita Ghatad, stated in her complaint that her step-father Shivendra Gupta used to molest her. On Friday morning when, Gupta tried to harass her it led to an argument between Ghatad, her mother Sheetal and Gupta. Cops said that angered by Gupta's remarks, Ghatad splashed hot oil on Gupta.Deputy sarpanch of Vemardi village, Shailesh Patel told the police in his complaint that after Ghatad splashed oil, Gupta ran out of their cabin house. Sheetal and her minor son too followed him with a sharp weapon. The boy, allegedly hit Gupta with an iron rod on his head multiple times. Sheetal too hit Gupta with stones, killing him on the spot.Meanwhile, a villager called 108 GVK-EMRI ambulance but the paramedics declared him dead. Police said that Gupta, who used to run a tea and snack stall in the village, used to harass all three repeatedly. A police official also said that when Sheetal used to fall ill, Gupta never took her to the doctor.Sheetal had divorced her earlier husband after she fell in love with Gupta and married him. Police said that they will produce Ghatad and Sheetal in local court on Sunday, while the minor boy was sent to special juvenile court at Vadodara.
