Civic body to develop three more ponds

Separate proposals regarding the development of each of the ponds have been prepared by the civic body and will be put up before the standing committee.Sources say, the civic body has decided to develop around 30 ponds in the city. Vadodara: The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) is set to develop three more ponds in the city by spending over Rs five crore on them. The work on the ponds is being planned and executed by the futuristic planning cell of the VMC. The ponds will be deepened and their embankments will be strengthened. Walkways, railings, decorative lighting and other facilities will also be added.

Vadodara: The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) is set to develop three more ponds in the city by spending over Rs five crore on them. Separate proposals regarding the development of each of the ponds have been prepared by the civic body and will be put up before the standing committee.Sources say, the civic body has decided to develop around 30 ponds in the city. The initiative has been taken up to give a unique feature to the city that makes it stand out.Sources said that the Tarsali pond will be developed with an investment of Rs 2.9 crore, Rs 1.4 crore will be spent on the Bapod pond and Rs 71 lakh will be invested in the Masiya pond.The VMC had earlier conducted major razing drives to clear the space around these ponds for development. The ponds will be deepened and their embankments will be strengthened. Walkways, railings, decorative lighting and other facilities will also be added. The work on the ponds is being planned and executed by the futuristic planning cell of the VMC.
