VARANASI: Though Governor Ram Naik on Monday issued a long-awaited notification renaming Mughalsarai Junction as Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction inviting congratulatory tweets from Union ministers, the East Central Railway (ECR) is yet to receive any intimation in this regard from the Railway Board.ECR officials and divisional railway manager (DRM), Mughalsarai, Pankaj Saxena on Tuesday said they haven't received any official communication from the Railway Board."We will act as per Railway Board's directive only. We haven't received any official communication renaming Mughalsarai Junction from the Board or ECR headquarters so far. I am happy as now this railway station will be known with the name of Upadhyaya who gave the ideology of Antyodaya."Following Goyal's tweet, Union minister of state for rail Manoj Sinha also tweeted and announced nomenclature of the station while another Union minister Kalraj Mishra congratulated Prime minister Narendra Modi and Goyal for renaming the station.After coming to power, Yogi Adityanath government had decided to rename Mughalsarai as DDU Nagar and Mughalsarai Junction which connects northern India to eastern and north-eastern parts.The name of Mughalsarai town was formally changed to DDU Nagar on September 12.However, the process of renaming Mughalsarai railway station could not be completed although through a tweet on October 13, 2017, Goyal not only announced the new nomenclature for Mughalsarai Junction as Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya railway station, but also mentioned that the railway administration has installed a symbol in the late leader's memory.
