VARANASI: After the Supreme Court on Monday upheld the death sentence for the four Nirbhaya gang-rape and murder convicts, her grandfather Lalji Singh expressed his trust in the judiciary and also his wish to see the execution of the convicts in his lifetime.“My only wish is to see them hanged before I die,” said Singh, a resident of Ballia's Medaura Kalan village.Nirbhaya (23), a paramedic student and resident of Ballia district, was gang-raped on the intervening night of December 16-17, 2012 in a running bus in South Delhi by six persons and assaulted severely before being thrown out of the vehicle. She succumbed to her injuries at a hospital in Singapore on December 29, 2012.“It is a matter of satisfaction that the court upheld capital punishment for them, but it is too late to get justice.
