CBN seizes 367kg charas worth Rs 70 lakhs in Varanasi

They said that efforts are being made to trace those white collared. VARANASI: The sleuths of Ghazipur unit of Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) caught a person with 3.67kg of charas worth Rs 70 lakhs from UPSRTC’s Cantt depot.The charas was brought from Nepal to deliver to local drug peddlers engaged in retailing at ghats along river Ganga.The CBN Ghazipur unit officials said that following specific inputs the deputy narcotics commissioner KK Singh formed a team that raided UPSRTC Cantt depot in Varanasi on Monday night. The CNB officials handed over Hawari to Varanasi police after lodging FIR under appropriate sections of NDPS.The CBN officials said that during interrogation Hawari divulged the name of some white collared persons, who have engaged drug peddlers at ghats along Ganga to the retailing of drugs and other intoxicants.
