"Children of rich families often own expensive toys which they do not use after a period of time. On the other hand children of poor families hardly afford a simple toy. The UP BJP also plans to come up with a concept of establishing 'toy bank' in every district. The BJP has also been attempting to reach out to Muslim women by invoking the issue of Triple Talaq, claiming it was causing grave problems to the women of the minority community. "This would establish party's direct connect with the poor, especially women," he added.

LUCKNOW: After promoting the ambitious Ujjwala Yojana envisaging free gas connections to rural households, the ruling BJP in UP is all set to touch yet another emotional chord of women folk by providing toys to their children.According to the plan, the Mahila Morcha (women's wing) of the UP BJP will be asked to collect toys from rich families and distribute them among children of the poor. The UP BJP also plans to come up with a concept of establishing 'toy bank' in every district. For this, the party would be hiring a building in every district where the toys would be stored for being distributed among the poor."Children of rich families often own expensive toys which they do not use after a period of time. On the other hand children of poor families hardly afford a simple toy. Our workers will collect toys from the rich and distribute to the poor families living in the rural areas and urban slums," UP BJP vice-president JPS Rathore told TOI. "This would establish party's direct connect with the poor, especially women," he added. "Our workers would soon be activated at the district level to identify the rich families which are willing to donate toys of their children," UP Mahila Morcha state president Darshana Singh. The BJP, sources said, had successfully implemented the idea in Gujarat where truck loads of toys collected from the rich were ferried to the children of urban and rural poor. This time, too, the idea was mooted by BJP chief Amit Shah during his recent meeting with party workers in Varanasi and Mirzapur, said BJP sources.Sources said that party essentially aims to reach out to women from the Dalit and MBC community under the con cept. The BJP has been seeking to make heavy inroads into the Dalit and MBC community to take on a prospective united opposition comprising SP and BSP. Earlier too, the UP BJP reached out to over 4,000 Dalit-dominated villages under its Gram Swaraj Abhiyan scheme. The move comes close on the heels of the Centre lending a further push to Ujjwala Yojana which is acclaimed to have paid rich electoral dividends to the saffron party during the 2017 UP assembly elections when it stormed to power with an overwhelming majority. Till date, the ruling party has distributed around 70 lakh gas connections under the Ujjwala scheme. The BJP has also been attempting to reach out to Muslim women by invoking the issue of Triple Talaq, claiming it was causing grave problems to the women of the minority community.
