Girl poisons midday meal to avenge brothers murder

""According to school authorities, the girl reportedly wanted to avenge the death of her younger brother, who was murdered allegedly by a class V student of the same school on April 2. GORAKHPUR: Police have lodged an FIR against a class VII student for allegedly mixing poison in the mid-day meal (MDM) at a primary school in Bauli village of UP's Deoria district on Tuesday to avenge her brother's murder on the school campus a few days ago. After getting the information, a team from FSDA, basic shiksha adhikari Prabhat Srivastav, community health centre (CHC) in charge Dr B N Yadav and SHO Devendra Singh Yadav reached the school and detained the girl and her mother. As per police reports, on Tuesday around 10.30am, the cook of the school Radhika was serving rice to the children when she noticed the accused girl going inside the kitchen. Bankata SHO Devendra Singh Yadav said, "A case has been registered against the girl on Wednesday under sections 328 and 511 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on the basis of a complaint filed by school principal Bhrigunath Prasad.
