VARANASI: After Mumbai's Tata Memorial Hospital, now Varanasi is on way to become the centre of cancer treatment. Now 40 to 50 patients are coming every day in the OPD even as the number of patients who are coming for operation has reached 100.The maximum charge for cancer treatment like breast cancer is only Rs 46,0000. So, the hype is such that before the inauguration of Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital in the parliamentary constituency of PM Narendra Modi, patients have started coming for treatment.The number of patients is so high here that they are being kept waiting; maybe one of the reasons of the high number is the registration charge which is Rs 46.Due to the large number of patients, they have to wait for about two weeks for the operation.Built at a cost of Rs 150 crore, the hospital was to be inaugurated during PM Modi's visit to Varanasi on July 14, but after changes in protocol, the programme had to be postponed.However, without waiting for the launch, it has been started with 20 cancer experts of Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai.
