BJP MLA protests against SCST Act

VARANASI: BJP MLA from Bairia in Ballia district Surendra Singh on Thursday came out on streets to protest against SC/ST Act in his constituency on Thursday.Terming the SC/ST Act as a black law, Singh said, " Yeh kala kanoon hai, yeh gair-dalit samaj ke liye emergency se bhi badtar hai. By enacting this law the members of Parliament declared the people of non-dalit sections as criminals by birth). Pure gair dalit samaj ko janmajat apradhi ghoshit kar diya hai saansadon ne (It is a black law, which is worse than the emergency for the non-Dalit section of the society. I am struggling for the pride of non-Dalit sections of the society.

By enacting this law the members of Parliament declared the people of non-dalit sections as criminals by birth)."Singh joined a group of protestors saying, "India would not tolerate ek jati ki azadi, baki sabki barbadi (freedom to one caste, and peril to others)."Justifying the protest, he said, "When the life and honour are in danger, one takes risk in such a situation to protect self pride. I am struggling for the pride of non-Dalit sections of the society. I can also quit politics for them."" Savarnon ne mujhe vidhyak banaya hai, jis din wo kah denge main stifa de dunga (The upper castes have elected me as MLA, I will resign if they ask me to do so)," he added.When asked if he is opposing BJP by joining the Bharat Bandh, he said, "It is a protest against SC/ST Act, and thus all political parties. This black law, which was initially brought by the Congress, was passed collectively by all (political parties)."
