Collegian ‘punished’ for saying ‘Bharat Mata ki jai’

However, the college principal has refuted the charge.Complainant Shiv Kumar Jaiswal, who belongs to social organization Manas Mandir, claimed that he has recorded statements of students and teachers, and requested chief minister Yogi Adityanath to take strict action in the matter.Jaiswal and some other members of the organization had visited the college on Friday after being informed that a Class-12 student was made to squat by a teacher as punishment for chanting ‘Bharat Mata ki jai’ after recital of the National Anthem two days earlier.On Friday, Jaiswal wrote to the CM, urging him to derecognize the college.During a visit to the college on Friday, many students and a teacher confirmed that a student was punished for chanting ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ after the morning assembly,” claimed Jaiswal, adding that video recording of the statements of the students and the teacher were also uploaded on social media.However, college principal Majid Nasir refuted the allegation and termed it as ‘baseless and an attempt to malign the school’s reputation’.
