Making his debut visit to Varanasi, actor Rahul Sharma of ' Kaal Bhairav Rahasya ' fame, says he was mesmerised with the city’s vibes. "I was there in Banaras for some pooja that I had to perform and then I had planned the trip in such a way that I could also explore the city about which I have heard so much from people," says Rahul, who was in the city last week. He adds, "A friend of mine stays in Banaras so I travelled with him on a bike and visited the ghats and all the famous temples there. Banaras ko explore karne ka asli mazaa bike pe hai and not in a car. The best part about the visit was that the moment I stepped on Assi Ghat , the Ganga aarti started. The feeling was simply divine, something that I haven’t experienced ever in my life. I could feel a different kind of energy in Banaras and one can’t deny the fact that there is a divine existence in Banaras. Since I had a lot of time at hand, I also met and sat with the aughad sadhus on the ghat. I drank the special nimbu waali masala chai of Banaras. The taste was very good and different. I also visited the Kashi Vishwanath temple at Banaras Hindu University where I meditated for some time."(L) Rahul at the Kashi Vishwanath temple in BHU (R) He went for a boat ride during his stay in VaranasiAnd Rahul says that he had several fan encounters in Varanasi. "Even though I have changed my look a bit after my serial 'Kaal Bhairav Rahasya', a large number of city folk could recognise me. I had several fan moments in Banaras," he says, adding, "I guess since my serial 'Kaal Bhairav...' was quite popular here because it had a special spiritual connect with this city, that is why people could recognise me."Rahul adds, "Banarasis were surprised to see me roaming so freely in their city. In fact, a man on a two-wheeler just stopped at a crossing seeing me to ask if I was the same guy from the serial. Even on the ghats a lot of people came to me to click selfies. Interestingly, a group of young boys, who were following me on instagram, traced me seeing my live stories from Banaras. It took them two hours to trace me, but they were finally able to meet me."And it wasn’t just prayers and meeting his fans for Rahul in the holy city. He also did some shopping for his family members. "I bought a Banarasi sari for my mom and several jewellery pieces that were being sold on the ghats, for my sisters. I could not go to Sarnath this time, but then I have a reason now to be back in the city," said he.Spending some quiet moments on the ghat (BCCL)Rahul’s last serial 'Mitegi Laxman Rekha' was taken off-air abruptly, ask him about it and he says, "Unfortunately, my last serial Mitegi Laxman Rekha ended abruptly as the channel realised that it needs revamping. Though the serial was really different as it was about a rape survivor’s life post the unfortunate incident. I was really hoping for a good response from people but it was pulled off-air as the channel was revamping. And now I have this movie in hand, for which I will soon start shooting in Kanpur. I have shot for ' Ek Ghar Banaunga ' in Lucknow way back in the year 2013 and now I will soon be shooting for my movie in Kanpur. So, I have had a very good connect with UP, both spiritual and professional."
