Statue of India's first President waiting to be unveiled for last 14 years in UP

BALLIA: A statue of the first president of India, Dr Rajendra Prasad , is waiting to be unveiled for last 14 years. Rajneesh Kumar Kanhaiya, who led the program said, "Efforts are being made for almost 14 years for the unveiling of the statue of first President of Independent India, Dr Rajendra Prasad and his wife Rajmata Rajvanshi Devi. He was willing to unveil the statue himself, however, this could not happen until this day.Dr Rajendra Prasad's 134 th birth anniversary was celebrated on Monday near the said statue. "Rahul Srivastava, who conducted the program, said that during elections, the politicians roam for votes on streets but nobody has time to unveil the joint statue of first President and his wife. The statue was installed in 2004 when Mulayam Singh Yadav was the chief minister of state.
