Court orders FIR against Parwaz for ‘doctored’ CD

GORAKHPUR: A district court has directed police to register an FIR against Pervez Parvaz for submitting a doctored video in connection with a criminal case lodged in 2007 against then MP of Gorakhpur Yogi Adityanath, accusing him of making provocative speech. The petitioner’s advocate, Ashok Kumar Shukla, told TOI on Friday: “After CFSL report, CB-CID filed the final report and Pervez Parvaz challenged it in high court, which rejected the plea. “The DVD produced by Pervez Pervaz was edited and tampered and CFSL has mentioned this point in its report. The Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in New Delhi had found the DVD tampered and edited. Now, the court has ordered to file a case against Pervez Parvaz, who is lodged in jail in connection with a gang rape case.” Parvaz, who claims to be the chief editor of a website, is lodged in Gorakhpur district jail in a case of gang rape since September 2018.

Pervez Parvez, the complainant in the case, had submitted the said video as footage of a public meeting where Yogi allegedly made the objectionable comments.The court of ACJM (first) of Gorakhpur, Nusrat Khan, ordered the city’s Cantt police to lodge an FIR against Pervez Parvaz on a petition filed by former MLC Dr YC Yadav on October 5, 2016. The court order came on December 11, but the copy was received by the petitioner on Thursday evening.In 2008, Pervez Parvaz had lodged an FIR against then Gorakhpur MP Yogi, former cabinet minister and present Union minister of state for finance Shiv Pratap Shukla, then mayor and present vice-chairperson of State Commission for Women Anju Chowdhary, former MLC Dr YD Singh and MLA Dr Radha Mohan Das Agarwal on several counts, including allegedly delivering hate speech and inciting communal violence in Gorakhpur in 2007.During investigation Pervez Parvaz produced tampered and edited DVD as evidence in the case.
