Gorakhpur: In a hair-raising incident, two minor cousin sisters were repeatedly burnt with hot iron tongs and forced-fed human excreta by their family members for having an affair with boys who studied with them in same school.The victims, who sustained bruises in their hands, have revealed their ordeal to the police after being brought back on Tuesday night from Nepal, where they had fled from the clutches of their tormentors.The girls were presented before the Child Welfare Committee after they refused to go back with their family members who despite having tortured them were allegedly sent to Nepal by the Gorakhpur police to bring the minors back. However, a timely approach by a city-based NGO Manav Seva Sansthan after being contacted by an NGO in the Himalayan country saved them from being handed over to the accused . The victims have been kept at a shelter house on CWC’s instructions, police said.“The victims have told us that they were burnt with tongs and forced-fed excreta, for which the investigation is underway. One SI with the NGO team brought them back to Gorakhpur from Nepal,” said Dinesh Mishra, SHO, Pipiganj police station.Rajesh Mani Tripathi, director of NGO Manav Sewa Sanstha, said: “The girls were spotted sitting in a bus in Nepal by a local NGO which is primarily engaged in the work of rescuing women trafficked through the Indo-Nepal border. The NGO took the girls away for counselling after informing the Nepal police. In the meantime, their parents reached there to take them back, but the girls refused to go alleging brutal torture by their father and brother over their affair. Later, the NGO contacted us with the help of the Nepal police and we inturn informed the incident to SP crime, who immediately rushed the police with us to take the girls back.”On Monday, the girls managed to escape from their house and first reached Campirganj by an auto and then reached Badhni, the Indo-Nepal border before fleeing to Nepal.
