However, calling the circular highly regressive, lady officers asked to know why the onus of looking after children was being thrust only on the women.“They said that husbands should also be allowed to avail of this leave, with the couple as a unit being allowed to share 730 days of leave as they like. We all agreed to the proposal and it will be put up before Centre for consideration,” said a senior officer.The bureaucrats also raised the demand for transparency in empanelment of IAS officers for postings at Centre besides allowing IAS officers to work in municipal bodies to give them exposure in urban development sector.The issues were put up at the annual general meeting on Saturday during the ongoing UP IAS Week and will be raised with the Centre for consideration.“Now for empanelment of officials for secretary and additional secretary level positions at Centre, the 360-degree feedback mechanism is used in which all information about him or her is collected, however, no reason is given in case empanelment is denied,” said a UP IAS association office-bearer.Officers seek municipal postings“The process is very opaque and we will be putting up this matter before Centre as well,” the bureaucrat added.The officers further said that they should be posted in municipal bodies .
