Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad Ravan kickstarts campaign in Varanasi

On March 15 at a rally at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, Chandrashekhar had announced to contest Lok Sabha elections from Varanasi, which is currently represented by Modi. He said that Chawkidar will have to give account of unemployed and poor. He started his road show after garlanding the statue of BR Ambedkar at Kutchehri crossing.Before moving towards Ravidas temple with his supporters Ravan alleged that in the regime of Chowkidar Rs 48 billion dues of capitalists were waived off while harassment of poor continued. However, policemen foiled their bid and took two of protesters under custody.Ravan had been given permission by the district administration to hold his road show between 11 am and 4 pm. Regarding probable candidate of their party, no office-bearer or leader from Congress or Samajwadi Party is ready to make any comment.The Varanasi parliamentary constituency had witnessed a high-voltage campaigning in 2014 when Delhi chief minister and AAP Arvind Kejriwal had contested against Modi.

VARANASI: Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad Ravan said that he has come to Varanasi to warn Chawkidar (Prime Minister Narendra Modi ) on the behalf over two crore youths, who were made unemployed in past five years, despite tall promises made by him to create job opportunities before coming to power at Center in 2014.Ravan gave this statement before carrying out his road show here on Saturday afternoon. He started his road show after garlanding the statue of BR Ambedkar at Kutchehri crossing.Before moving towards Ravidas temple with his supporters Ravan alleged that in the regime of Chowkidar Rs 48 billion dues of capitalists were waived off while harassment of poor continued. He said that Chawkidar will have to give account of unemployed and poor. He said that he had been facing challenges since childhood but he would continue raising voice of youths of all cast and community.When his road show was passing through Nadesar area the UP College students union president Milind Singh and his supporters tried to show black flag to Ravan. However, policemen foiled their bid and took two of protesters under custody.Ravan had been given permission by the district administration to hold his road show between 11 am and 4 pm. The rally was organised to mark the 85th birth anniversary of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) founder late Kanshi Ram Chandrashekhar had made announcement to contest from Varanasi two days after Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi had met him at a Meerut hospital on March 13 ahead of her Varanasi visit.Except for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which had announced that Modi will contest LS poll again from Varanasi, no other party has declared the name of their candidate. Regarding probable candidate of their party, no office-bearer or leader from Congress or Samajwadi Party is ready to make any comment.The Varanasi parliamentary constituency had witnessed a high-voltage campaigning in 2014 when Delhi chief minister and AAP Arvind Kejriwal had contested against Modi.
