Rly traffic hit on Chhapra Kashi route

The incident paralysed the train movement on Chhapra-Ballia route of NER.On getting information, general manager NER Rajiv Agrawal, DRM NER Varanasi SK Jha and many senior officials reached the site to monitors rescue and restoration works. These trains run between Lucknow and Ballia only.On Sunday, 13 coaches, including four of AC-III, five of sleeper class, pantry car, two general bogies and one SLR, of Chhapra-Surat Express derailed near Gautam Sthan station after departing from Chhapra station. Six passengers had suffered minor injuries in this incident. Varanasi: The passengers remained worst hit as movement of 18 trains was affected mainly between Chhapra and Varanasi routes after 13 coaches of 19046 Chhapra-Surat Express derailed near Gautam Sthan station in Bihar on Sunday.The North Eastern Railway ensured termination of four trains, diversion of 12 trains on other routes and short termination of two trains.According to NER’s Varanasi division public relation officer Ashok Kumar, NER decided to terminate 19046 Chhapra-Surat Express, 55017 Chhapra-Mau passenger, 55013 Chhapra-Varanasi passenger and 55312 Varanasi City- Chhapra passenger trains till restoration of train movement between Chhapra and Ballia routes.Routes of 12562 New Delhi Jainagar Express, 13106 Ballia-Siyaldah Express, 15560 Ahmedabad-Darbhanga Express, 14649 Jainagar-Amritsar Express, 14650 Amritsar-Jainagar Express, 19165 Ahmedabad-Darbhanga Express, 152 Barauni-Gondia Express, 18191 Chhapra-Farrukhabad Express, 05101 Chhapra-Delhi special, 11061 Lokmanya Tilak Terminal-Darbhanga Express, 15160 Durg-Chhapra Express and 11062 Darbhanga-Lokmanya Tilak terminal Express trains were diverted.Short termination was ensured for 15054 Lucknow-Chhapra Express and 15053 Chhapra-Lucknow trains.
