BJP plans big gathering of women at Modi meeting in gratitude for reservation bill

Varanasi: Amid Bharatiya Janata Party intensifying efforts to mobilise people to take part in Prime Minister Narendra Modis public meeting after laying foundation of international cricket stadium at Ganjari on September 23, the partys Mahila Morcha (womens wing) is preparing to make an impressive strength of women turn out for the rally to express gratitude to Modi for the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam (womens reservation bill).BJP Mahila Morchas Kashi region unit president Namrata Chaurasia, who led a band of the wings office-bearers and supporters in celebrating introduction of the NSVA at the partys Gulab Bagh office on Wednesday evening, said, Modiji is the pride of Kashi and country and we take part in all his events in big numbers, but, this time, in appreciation of his pro-women move, we will turn out in greater strength at his public meeting in Ganjari on September 23.BJPs Kashi regional unit president Dilip Singh Patel said, We have already finalised plan to ensured huge participation of public at the proposed public meeting as Modiji is adding to the glory of the city with an international cricket stadium. Women from all sections of the society jubilant. Usually, we reserve two to three blocks in the seating plan of PMs public meetings for women, but with our Mahila Morcha making efforts to bring more women in, we will make arrangement at the venue accordingly.Patel had already given the task to party leaders, office bearers and workers of going among people, especially in the vicinity of Ganjari, to invite people at Modis public meeting by Tuesday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his first speech in the new Parliament building, announced that the bill has been approved by the Union Cabinet. The bill, called the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, will only come into effect after the delimitation exercise, which means it cannot be implemented before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Once passed, the bill will increase the number of women members in Lok Sabha from 82 to 181.
