Order on plea for KVT case transfer on Oct 4

Varanasi: The court of the district judge on Saturday fixed October 4 to pronounce its order on an application seeking transfer of a fresh civil suit from the court of civil judge senior division to the Varanasi district court.The court reserved its order after the counsel of Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust, Ravi Kumar Pandey, presented his submission before the court. After hearing, the court fixed October 4 for delivering its order, said Pandey.Earlier on Friday, the counsel of Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust, a party in this case, had sought time for giving its submission in the court. Granting time to the temple trust, the court fixed Saturday (September 30) as the next date of hearing.The head priest of Acharya Ved Vyas Peeth temple, Shailendra Kumar Pathak Vyas, had filed the plea before the court of civil judge senior division on September 25. Vyass other lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain too filed an application the same day before the court of the district judge seeking transfer of this suit to his court.Earlier, Anjuman Intezamia Masajid Committees advocate Mumtaz Ahmad had raised an objection, saying that if the case was transferred to the district court, the AIMC would be deprived of filing an appeal in the district court. Ahmad argued that the suit should not be transferred to the district court and prayed to the court to reject the application. The ASI survey was ordered to determine whether the mosque was built on top of an old Shiva temple. The survey had been temporarily stopped due to the plea, but has now been allowed to resume.Supreme Court reiterates concern over delay in judges appointments in High CourtsThe Supreme Court has expressed concern over the delay in appointing judges in various High Courts. The court noted that recommended names have been pending for the last seven months and asked the Centre for an explanation. The Attorney General has been asked to provide instructions from the Central Government on the issue. This comes after the court previously expressed concern over the pending transfers of judges in high courts.
