5 killed as train hits car at unmanned level crossing in UP's Bhadohi

VARANASI: As many as five persons were killed when a car was hit by a running train at an unmanned level crossing near Madho Singh railway station of Varanasi division of North Eastern Railway (NER) in Bhadohi district on Saturday evening. The railway rescue team from Varanasi rushed to the spot. Some natives of Jamuwa village of Kachhwa area were going to Pakhwaiyya village in Chilh area in five cars to attend a tilak function. One their cars (UP 65 BD 1645) was hit by the train killing all five persons. The killed persons were identified as Satish Tripathi (58), Ajit Tripathi (32), Vivek Tripathi (38) Deepak Kumar Mishra (35), and Ram Ssjivan Mishra (70), all residents of Kachhwa area of Mirzapur district.

The NER spokesperson Ashok Kumar told to TOI that the rescue team has been sent to the mishap site.According to reports, the car while crossing an unmanned level crossing was rammed by Howrah bound 1234 Vibhuti Express around 5pm in between Madho Singh and Ahimanpur stations. The train originating from Allahabad was on way to Varanasi when the mishap occurred.The local residents rushed to the spot to rescue them but they could not be saved. The police also reached there after getting information. The killed persons were identified as Satish Tripathi (58), Ajit Tripathi (32), Vivek Tripathi (38) Deepak Kumar Mishra (35), and Ram Ssjivan Mishra (70), all residents of Kachhwa area of Mirzapur district. Some natives of Jamuwa village of Kachhwa area were going to Pakhwaiyya village in Chilh area in five cars to attend a tilak function. One their cars (UP 65 BD 1645) was hit by the train killing all five persons. The police sent the bodies for postmortem.
