Children take part in aksharabhyasam

The auspicious aksharabhyasam programme organised at the Kaali Matha temple near Pundit Nehru Bus Station on Monday turned a perfect stage for communal harmony on Monday. “People of Krishnalanka took part in this auspicious programme irrespective of their religion,” he said. Additional Director of Prosecutions, YSRCP leader V. Radha Krishna and others visited the programme and distributed slates to the toddlers. The programme was organised by the YSRCP corporator of 24th division Chandana Suresh. While the temple premises was filled with hundreds of Hindu mothers and their wards, two children belonging to the Muslim community accompanied by their mothers clad in traditional burkha also participated in the religious tradition marking the beginning of education of a child.

The two boys Sh. Masood and Sk. Ashwak became the cynosure of all eyes, as they calmly sat on their mothers’ laps and wrote, “Om Namahsivaya” to begin their journey of learning and education as the priests chanted sacred mantras. “Education is an important aspect of any child’s life. We wanted it to begin in an auspicious way and have done it with the blessings of the presiding deity along with our neighbours,” said Sk. Haseena mother of Masood. The programme was organised by the YSRCP corporator of 24th division Chandana Suresh. “People of Krishnalanka took part in this auspicious programme irrespective of their religion,” he said.
