SCR emerges first 100% LED-lit zone

Earlier, the SCR provided 1,35,417 LED luminaries to cover all its 733 stations and 1,424 service buildings by March 2018, which also was a first among all zones. The South Central Railway became the first 100% LED-lit zone. Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, SCR, congratulated A.A. Phadke, Principal Chief Electrical Engineer, and the staff of the electrical department on the achievement. This will result in 35.4 lakh unit electrical energy saving amounting to ?3 crore per annum apart from reduction in carbon emission by 3,187 tonnes per year. It provided 1,64,291 LED bulbs replacing the conventional ones in 23,740 residential quarters.
