GUNTUR: Exuding confidence that Telugu Desam Party (TDP) will sweep the next election in the state, young leader Dr Kodela Sivaramakrishna said they have surpassed people's expectations by unveiling several developmental works and welfare programmes last four years. He said that people are happy with TDP rule as the state government has successfully implemented the welfare schemes as per their expectations. Dr Kodela Sivaram is the eldest son of AP Assembly speaker Dr Kodela Sivaprasada Rao and coordinator of the party affairs in Sattenapalle and Narasaraopet assembly constituencies in Guntur district Speaking to TOI about the party’s strength in Sattenapalle and Narasaraopet constituencies, Dr Sivaram, a doctor by profession, explained that he had built a new barrage of party workers who could protect the party from any kind of onslaught. He said they have hundreds of dedicated workers in each and every village and there is nothing to worry about their prospects in next 20-30 years.“While the welfare programmes of the government are being extended to every eligible person, we have ensured that our party activists get benefitted from the local economic growth. For example, all the out-sourcing jobs in government offices are given to the eligible children of our party workers. Similarly, our party activists in villages are given an opportunity to set up small tea shop or hotel close to a newly-launched government office or a road. There is nothing illegal in it,” he defended. He added that TDP has helped the party activists in getting employment or business to sustain. Although, majority of the party workers in both Sattenapalle and Narasaraopet constituencies are emotionally attached to his father Dr Kodela Sivaprasada Rao, he had focused on their economic stability to make them more strong.“My father had represented Narasaraopet constituency for five consecutive terms and handled very crucial portfolios including home, major irrigation and health in the cabinets of NTR and Chandrababu Naidu for over 10 years during TDP rule. He had always focused on development of the constituency. I have made little amendments to our plans where we are giving equal priority to the personal development of the party leaders without indulging in any illegal activity along with developing the constituencies,” said Dr Sivaram. He said a worker can dedicate more time for the party only when his/her family is happy. He said his party is helping the children of all the activists in getting seats in best higher educational institutions so that their economies would automatically transform in next decade.Dr Sivaram rubbished the talk of his interference in government activities and controversies. He said that the opposition YSRCP leaders in Narasaraopet were brazenly involved in looting the public money and they were spreading false information against the ruling TDP leaders as they have become big hurdles for them. He said that Sattenapalle constituency has set a record in construction of individual toilets under Swacch AP programme and Narasaraopet turned into a model town by providing potable drinking water to the residents. He said that Dr Kodela Sivaprasada Rao is the only leader who had ensured construction of compound walls to the burial grounds belonging to Hindu, Muslim and Christian religions.
