PCB engineer raided, has properties worth Rs 12 crore

The ACB sleuths, based on specific information, conducted coordinated searches at eight places including Vijayawada, Nellore, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry and Hyderabad. His wife Malathi owns two house plots, 432 sq yards plot at Rajahmundry and 200 sq yards plot at Yalamanchili in Visakhapatnam. Earlier he worked at Rajahmundry, Visakhapatnam, Nellore, Vizianagaram, Kothagudem, Rampachodavaram and BHEL in various capacities. The accused officer, Evani Satyanarayana (56), was having properties, estimated to be worth Rs 12 crore, at various places on his name and also registered on his family members’ name. Satyanarayana’s son owns three house plots of about 926 sq yards together at Nellore and Yadagirigutta.

Vijayawada: In yet another case of disproportionate assets, the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) have unearthed large sums of properties from an environmental engineer working in the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) regional office in Vijayawada. The accused officer, Evani Satyanarayana (56), was having properties, estimated to be worth Rs 12 crore, at various places on his name and also registered on his family members’ name. He was also holding benami properties on one of his close associates’ name.Satyanarayana was a native of Kothapet in East Godavari district. He joined the service in APPCB as junior engineer in the year 1989. He was promoted as Environmental Engineer in the year 2000 and was presently working in the Vijayawada regional office. Earlier he worked at Rajahmundry, Visakhapatnam, Nellore, Vizianagaram, Kothagudem, Rampachodavaram and BHEL in various capacities. During the searches at his house at Maruti Colony in Vijjayawada, the officials found assets of large value.Satyanarayana owns six house plots and four flats in his name and also on his family members’ and benami’s name. He owns a flat in 1,660 sq yards at Miyapur in Hyderabad. His wife Malathi owns two house plots, 432 sq yards plot at Rajahmundry and 200 sq yards plot at Yalamanchili in Visakhapatnam. Satyanarayana’s son owns three house plots of about 926 sq yards together at Nellore and Yadagirigutta. He was also owning a flat in an apartment built in 1,555 sq ft at Miyapur in Hyderabad. Pavan Kumar also holding agriculture land to an extent of 4.44 acre at Pellakuru in Nellore district.Satyanarayana owned one flat built in 1,480 sq ft at RTC Colony in Kakinada and another 52 sq yards of plot in the same location. The ACB officials identified one Radha Krishna Raju, a close associate of Satyanarayana as his benami. The flat on the name of Raju at Kondapur in Hyderabad was actually owned by Satyanarayana.
