Vijayawada: The BJP Lok Sabha member from Visakhapatnam, Kambhampati Haribabu, on Friday advised the Andhra Pradesh government to “create a special purpose vehicle (SPV) and receive Rs 17,500 crore funds from the central government”.Participating in the debate on the no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha, Haribabu blamed the AP government for not responding to the advice of the Central government to create an SPV to receive special financial assistance to the state, thereby avoiding the provisions of the Fiscal Regulation and Budget Management Act of 2003.Haribabu said that the BJP had promised special category status to the State both at the time of bifurcation and during the 2014 elections.
