TIRUPATI: In a tragic incident a man and his mother committed suicide one after the other at Tirupati on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday. Gangadhar (27) a contract employee with Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam (TTD) committed suicide by hanging self at his home.He was noticed by his mother Kumari . With the help of neighbours, she rushed him to Ruia Hospital for treatment. The doctors at Ruia tried to save him but in vain as Gangadhar died.Knowing about the death of her son, already depressed Kumari hanged self to a tree within the hospital premises. TTD contract employees were alleging that financial problems were the reason behind the motive of Gangadhar. The general secretary of contract employees association, T Subramanyam told that the contract employees are being exploited with meagre salaries. He said it was the long pending demand of the employees to pay reasonable salary but the board did not agreed he rued.Apart from financial problems, family troubles also added to the issue according to the cops. Gangadhar married only three months before but he was having issues with his wife and she was staying away from him. Depressed Gangadhar committed suicide and as the family members of his wife held Kumari responsible for his death, she also committed suicide by hanging self. Police registered a case under section 174 of CrPC and investigating the matter to find out what has happened exactly.
