Andhra Pradesh IAN Fellowship for Maj Gen Dr Kumaravelu

GUNTUR: Renowned neuro-physician Dr S Kumaravelu has received prestigious fellowship from Indian Association of Neurologists ( IAN ). He is one of the top neurologists in the country,” said Dr Pothineni Ramesh Babu, managing director of Ramesh Hospitals group. He had also been on the board of Indian Stroke Association.Dr Kumaravelu is head of the department of DNB course being offered at Ramesh Hospitals. Dr Kumaravelu, chief neurologist in Ramesh Hospitals, is the only person to receive the prestigious honour from South India.The fellowship was conferred on Dr Kumaravelu at the annual conference of Indian Association of Neurologists (IAN) held in Raipur of Chattisgarh between September 27-30. Chief Operating Officer (COO) P Gopikrishna said that Dr Kumaravelu had saved hundreds of lives almost from the jaws of death when they were brought to the hospital after suffered with brain stroke.

Dr Sanjeev Thomos, president of IAN, presented the fellowship to Dr Kumaravelu.Dr Kumaravelu had served as Major General in Indian Army for 36 years before joining the Ramesh Hospital group about five years ago. He completed DM from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). He had also been on the board of Indian Stroke Association.Dr Kumaravelu is head of the department of DNB course being offered at Ramesh Hospitals. His address at international conference organized by European Stroke Organisation at Gutenberg received accolades from across the globe.Dr Kumaravelu is instrumental is hospitals setting up separate stroke units to create awareness about the brain stroke among the general public.“It is a big honour for our institution to have Dr Kumaravelu with us. He is one of the top neurologists in the country,” said Dr Pothineni Ramesh Babu, managing director of Ramesh Hospitals group.
