Purnachandra Rao and Principal General Manager (customer fixed access) L.S. Ropia announced the launch in connection with the BSNL 18th Formation Day celebrations here on Monday. “The first 4G tower is commissioned at Nunna (in Vijayawada) on Monday and the new services will be available in 46 towns across the State by November-end,” the CGM said. Top performer Speaking to the newsmen on the occasion, the CGM said AP BSNL stood on top in the country with 2.72 lakh broadband connections, including 45,000 released in the last six months alone, and 73% growth in 2018-19. Mr. Purnachandra Rao explained that BSNL has 63 lakh mobile customers and 5.80 lakh landline connections in AP. The company has targeted to install 1200 WiFi connections soon, the CGM said. “BSNL is the only company which provided services during the recent Kerala floods and Hudhud cyclone in Visakhapatnam. For better mobile services, the organisation is spending ?168 crore during the current financial year. On the occasion of BSNL Formation Day, the company has partnered with Amazon to offer one year of Amazon prime membership worth ?999 without any cost on select BSNL post-paid mobiles (above ?399 FMC) and broadband plans (above ?745 FMC). Stupendous growth During the current year, AP circle has provided 36,000 landline (LL) connections registering a growth of 28%. As part of the formation day celebrations, BSNL has introduced ‘Prathibha Plus 49’ (i.e. free unlimited calling to any network along with 1GB data and 200 SMS for 10 days), STV-18 and 18% extra talk time on selected vouchers, the CGM added. GM (sales and marketing) A.V. Rao, GM Krishna district Y. Ravindranath, GM (consumer mobiles) B. Ravi Kumar and SDE (PR) Ramarao Salivendra were among those present.
