Eligible staffer to get at least one promotion during service: DGP RP Thakur

GUNTUR: Promising to resolve the service matters of the police personnel, Director General of Police (DGP) RP Thakur has promised that he will ensure that every eligible staffer gets at least one promotion during the service. He complimented the rural SP for coming up with an ultra-modern gym and aerobic centre for the police personnel. He said that police personnel particularly constables were working in the toughest conditions and hence they deserve better service conditions. South coastal zone IGP KV Gopala Rao, Guntur urban district Superintendent of Police Ch Vijaya Rao were also present. He said that the department will also take measures to lessen the workload on the field staff.

He said that the department will also take measures to lessen the workload on the field staff. DGP said that no constable would be allowed to retire just as constable and clear the hurdles for their promotions.Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, Thakur said that entire police department works like a single family and try to support each other on all occasions. He said that police personnel particularly constables were working in the toughest conditions and hence they deserve better service conditions. “The state government had recently granted permission for taking up recruitment. We will start the process of recruitment shortly” said Thakur.DGP visited the police martyrs families in city and enquired about their wellbeing. He interacted with the family members and assured all possible support from the department. He said that the department would never forget the sacrifices of their men in the duty. “They have sacrificed their lives for the society. They have laid down their lives to maintain the law and order. It is highest sacrifice,” he said. DGP said that although they could not fully compensate the loss of lives, the department was ready to extend full support to the families.DGP reviewed the implementation of various initiatives launched by the department with the senior officials of Rural district. Superintendent of Police (SP) Rural district Ch Venkata Appala Naidu explained the newly launched programmes Sabala, Chetana, Meetho-Mee SP, Sannihitam, Bhadra, Garuda Command Control through a power point presentation.DGP inaugurated advanced gym and aerobic centre constructed in the police parade grounds. He complimented the rural SP for coming up with an ultra-modern gym and aerobic centre for the police personnel. South coastal zone IGP KV Gopala Rao, Guntur urban district Superintendent of Police Ch Vijaya Rao were also present.
