The modernization works on Swarnala Cheruvu are also nearing completion. The authorities have also planned to pump fresh water into the tank regularly and illuminate the area with colourful lights.“Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu had cleared the funds to take up the project as per the assurance he made during his visit to Rottela Panduga,” Dr Narayana said.He added that the new facilities would also attract the devotees visiting Barah Shaheed Dargah which was located on the banks of Swarnala Cheruvu and Irugulamma temple. Several national and international tourists are likely to visit the city, which is close to protected bird sanctuary at Nelapattu and famous lake at Pulicat.He said that thousands of students and researchers would be visiting Space centre at Shar in Sriharikota and touch Nellore city encoute. “Taking all these issues into consideration, we have decided to make Nellore city a tourist hub with all advanced recreational facilities,” said Dr Narayana.About 10 parks in the city would also be developed at a cost of Rs10 crore.
