'Will pitch Chandrababu Naidu's name for PM post'

GUNTUR: Notwithstanding chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu's firm refusal to take up the PM's post even if the non-BJP alliance emerges victorious in 2019, party leaders are excited to announce that Naidu will eventually be in the race for the top post.Veteran MP, Rayapati Sambasiva Rao , is the latest TDP leader to declare that they will propose Naidu's name for the PM's post after winning majority Lok Sabha seats in Andhra in the next general elections. I strongly feel that Naidu should accept the top post if the opposition parties request him to lead the country and the alliance," he said.Rayapati said Naidu is one of the senior-most leaders in India with an experience of working as a chief minister for more than 14 years, and as opposition leader for 10 years. He said Naidu's chances of becoming PM can't be ruled out post 2019 elections, which will see the anti-BJP alliance, including the TDP, secure a majority in Lok Sabha.Speaking to reporters here on Monday, Rayapati said that the TDP chief will emerge as an automatic choice for anti-BJP alliance as he is the only leader in the country who has been relentlessly working to defeat Narendra Modi and Amit Shah-led BJP.He said Naidu's efforts in stitching the national alliance has received overwhelming support from several opposition parties including NCP, TMC, DMK, SP, and RJD.
