AP CM Chandrababu Naidu to visit Delhi on December 10 for opposition conclave

Meanwhile, Naidu is making efforts to take the support of as many political parties as possible for the proposed grand alliance to corner the BJP at the hustings. The TDP chief is in touch with leaders of different political parties, particularly Mamata Banerjee for the success of the December 10 meeting. Naidu also spoke to the leaders of the Left parties and Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav. He first visited Delhi on October 23 and it was followed by another meeting on November 1. He also went to Kolkata on November 19 to meet Trinamool Congress president and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee.Naidu will stay in Delhi after the December 10 to host breakfast for opposition leaders.

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh chief minister and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu will meet the leaders of the opposition parties in Delhi on December 10 as part of a plan for a non-BJP 'grand allianc' at the national level ahead of the general elections 2019.The meeting was originally scheduled for November 22 but was postponed till December 10 in view of assembly elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram.This will be Naidu’s third visit to the Capital in pursuit of opposition unity. He first visited Delhi on October 23 and it was followed by another meeting on November 1. He also went to Kolkata on November 19 to meet Trinamool Congress president and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee.Naidu will stay in Delhi after the December 10 to host breakfast for opposition leaders. It is not clear if the Trinamool Congress chief has agreed to participate in the meeting.Naidu is trying to convince her to attend the crucial opposition conclave , sources said. Naidu also spoke to the leaders of the Left parties and Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav. Efforts are also on to convince Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Mayawati to attend the conclave.According to sources, the agenda for the meeting includes the strategy the non-BJP opposition parties should adopt in Parliament during the winter session, the political situation in the country and the recent political developments in Jammu and Kashmir, raids by income tax department and enforcement directorate on leaders and sympathisers of certain political parties, and the need for building a national alternative to the BJP before the general elections.Sources said the opposition leaders will meet again after the winter session. Meanwhile, Naidu is making efforts to take the support of as many political parties as possible for the proposed grand alliance to corner the BJP at the hustings.
