AP to get 9 fisheries vet polytechnics

VIJAYAWADA: The AP cabinet on Wednesday gave its nod to Sri Venkateswara University in Tirupati to start nine veterinary and nine fisheries polytechnics in the state. The cabinet decided to recruit 78 food safety officers, 28 data entry operators, 28 sampling assistants on outsource basis. The government had spent ?1.23 crore on travel and Rs 1.60 lakh for the protest at the AP Bhavan. The cabinet also approved Rs 2.83 crore, spent for Dharma Porata Deeksha held in New Delhi on February 11. These new polytechnics would commence their courses from the 2019-20 academic year.

VIJAYAWADA: The AP cabinet on Wednesday gave its nod to Sri Venkateswara University in Tirupati to start nine veterinary and nine fisheries polytechnics in the state. These new polytechnics would commence their courses from the 2019-20 academic year. Each would admit 50 students.Among other key decisions, the cabinet decided to fill vacant posts in various departments, including 36 posts of teachers in the 1998 DSC as secondary grade teachers on contract.The cabinet also decided to recruit qualified DEd and BEd teachers of 2008 batch on contract.It was also decided to grant increments to special teachers, physical education teachers and language pundits who were recruited between 1983 and 1996.The cabinet has decided to increase number of beds in 22 hospitals in the state. This was in addition to the beds increased in 31 hospitals in the earlier cabinet meeting. The cabinet also approved Rs 2.83 crore, spent for Dharma Porata Deeksha held in New Delhi on February 11. The government had spent ?1.23 crore on travel and Rs 1.60 lakh for the protest at the AP Bhavan. The cabinet decided to recruit 78 food safety officers, 28 data entry operators, 28 sampling assistants on outsource basis. This is in addition to recruitment of a gazetted rank librarian post for the Central Secretariat Library.
