Durga Rao has also scaled Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, and Raju has climbed Mount Elbrus, the highest peak in Europe.The duo has also climbed other peaks in India as part of their preparation. While Raju belongs to a fisherman family, Durga Rao’s parents work as daily wage workers.This is not a lone feat as the duo has already climbed Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world. Vijayawada: Two youth from Andhra Pradesh have created a record becoming the first from the state to scale the highest peak in South America, Mount Aconcagua , in Argentina at 6962 meters and second only to Mount Everest.Raju Gosala, a native of Visakhapatnam, and Durga Rao from East Godavari district come from humble backgrounds. The weather was very cooperative and we made the best use of it and reached the summit.” Durga Rao said, “I'm very happy for my team and myself to have reached the top of one of the seven summits.” The duo are on a mission to scale the highest peaks in seven continents. Behind their success lies extensive training received at premier mountaineering institutions in India, like the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Darjeeling and Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Uttarkashi.When asked about their latest achievement, Raju said “It is an absolute delight to have summited the peak this season.
