Hence, choosing Tirupati for Rahul’s meeting is seen as a political strategy as the venue will give greater chance for Rahul to hit at Modi for going back on the promise given to the people in this holy town. Moreover, Rahul’s visit also coincides with the completion of five years of the passing of Andhra bifurcation Act and promise for SCS on the floor of Rajya Sabha by the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.Since then, the SCS has become a core issue in the state, particularly now, keeping the 2019 elections in mind.Last year, chief minister Chandrababu Naidu too held a meeting here and played video clips of Modi’s speech dating back to his 2014 election campaign and tried to expose him (Modi) of how he backtracked on his promises after becoming the Prime Minister.
