Vizianagaram/Visakhapatnam: Exuding confidence that TDP would retain power in 2019 elections, chief minister and party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday said that K Chandrasekhar Rao KCR ) of Telangana Rashtra Samithi TRS ) retained power in Telangana for ‘doing nothing’. “TDP will win at least 150 Assembly seats in AP because they have been working hard every single day for 18 hours towards the development of the state. TDP’s victory in 2019 elections is a historic necessity for Andhra Pradesh,” Naidu asserted.Addressing a public meeting after launching the party’s poll campaign in Vizianagaram, Naidu accused KCR of stealing TDP data and sharing it with YSR Congress party’s supremo YS Jaganmohan Reddy. “KCR has been adopting backdoor methods to weaken TDP and obstruct the development of the state by joining hands with YSRC,” Naidu said.Terming Prime Minister Narendra Modi as ‘electricity’ power in New Delhi, Naidu labelled his Telangana counterpart as a ‘switch’ and Jagan as a ‘fan’. “But, people in Andhra wouldn’t allow the fan to function as people have lost faith in the trio (Modi, KCR and Jagan). Modi has been protecting KCR and Jagan for his political mileage and hamper the progress of Andhra Pradesh,” the TDP supremo pointed out.Touching the Vizianagaram political scenario, Naidu came down heavily on YSRC leader Botsa Satyanarayana and his nephew Majji Srinivasa Rao alias Chinna Srinu. Alleging that Botsa and his family members have been indulging in huge corruption and obstructing the development of Vizianagaram district, he urged the voters not to vote for YSRC.Later, while addressing a rally in Vizag, Naidu alleged that YSRC leaders had hatched another drama through the murder of YS Vivekananda and tried to hide clues to Reddy’s death and blame TDP for political mileage. Recalling the attack on YS Jaganmohan Reddy in Vizag Airport, Naidu questioned is the necessity to appoint the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to probe the attack. “We can play a key role in the Centre if TDP wins 25 parliament segments in Andhra and protest for the interests of Telugu people on a large scale, Naidu added.
