Vemur (Guntur): YSRC supremo Jaganmohan Reddy urged people not to fall into the traps of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu who, he said, will be ready to deceive people with his money, muscle and media power during the elections. Jagan addressed a public meeting in Vemur in Guntur district on Tuesday. He said that in reality, Naidu has not fulfilled a single promise, but he is “shamelessly” claiming during his campaigns that he has fulfilled all the promises.“I appeal to you that you don’t fall for his lies and fall into the trap of agents for short-term gains and switch on the fan to blow away the corrupt government,” Jagan said. Taking Chandrababu Naidu’s five-year rule head on, Jagan said that the chief minister was the chief culprit for AP not getting the Special Category Status (SCS). He added that Naidu would back-stab the SCS movement and also sat on Dharma Porata Deeksha, demanding SCS after his drama on the issue was exposed.“Special Category Status (SCS) was not an issue for Chandrababu Naidu when he was a partner of NDA coalition. He started dramas in the name of Dharma Porata Deekshas after enjoying power in Centre for four and half years,” said Jagan, adding that it was Chandrababu Naidu who agreed for Special Package and passed a thanks giving resolution in the assembly.He said that the state government curbed the SCS movement, which was launched by YSRC, and foisted false cases against the youths.Jagan promised to bring back the past glory of women groups by granting special financial assistance to clear their debts. He said that crop input advance of Rs12,500 would be given to the farmers every year along with providing MSP to all the crops.Stating that welfare pensions were hiked only two months ago in view of the elections, Jagan promised to increase the pension to Rs 3,000 in a phased manner after coming into power. He said that they would take care of the entire cost of education of the poor children.Jagan likened the party symbol, fan to that of Sudarshana Chakra that has put an end to the evil characters like Sisupala. “People like Lord Srikrishna should press the fan button on EVMs to eject the corrupt rule of TDP out,” thundered Jagan.He introduced the party candidates, M Nagarjuna (assembly) and Suresh (Lok Sabha) to the people and urged for their support. ZP chairperson Shaik Janimoon quit the TDP and joined YSRC in the presence of Jagan.
