Cash for ticket? Praja Shanthi chief Paul accused of collecting money

He took the letter of him being appointed as the party co-ordinator from me. But later he started showing the same letter to everyone and has been accusing me of having taken money for the ticket. “We are waiting for party B forms since Sunday but Paul has been postponing the process. I have registered a complaint with Election Commission about this and hope he will be arrested soon,” he said.

Vijayawada: A few assembly ticket aspirants from Praja Shanthi Party approached media on Wednesday accusing party President KA Paul of having collected money for tickets.Paul had announced that he would contest in all 175 assemblies and 25 Lok Sabha constituencies in AP and also announced a few candidates in his recent meetings.But now the aspirants are in limbo as the last date for filing nominations is approaching fast and there has been no response from Paul. “We are waiting for party B forms since Sunday but Paul has been postponing the process. I personally gave Rs 25 lakhs to him for Tirupati assembly seat. There are around 40 aspirants who gave money for Paul,” Dr Sripathi, coordinator of Praja Shanthi Party said.“Paul is an international cheater and has intentionally deceived us by offering MLA tickets,” he added.Hemalatha, a homemaker from Bhavanipuram aspiring for Vijayawada West seat alleged that she gave Rs 10 lakh to Paul. “I was attracted towards the philosophy of Paul and gave him money,” she said.Meanwhile, denying the allegations of taking money, Paul said that he had expelled party coordinator Sripathi from the party a few days ago. “I don’t know Sripathi properly. He took the letter of him being appointed as the party co-ordinator from me. But later he started showing the same letter to everyone and has been accusing me of having taken money for the ticket. I have registered a complaint with Election Commission about this and hope he will be arrested soon,” he said.
