MANGALAGIRI: Former zilla parishad chairman and senior TDP leader Pathuri Nagabhushanam is playing key role in converting the congress strongholds in Mangalagiri assembly constituency into TDP bastions.With IT minister and TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh contesting his first direct election, the party took issue of poll management seriously.Although, no one in the party had any doubt about the victory of Lokesh, party senior leaders are focussing on increasing the majority. In order to win over the majority of the electorate, senior party leaders are visiting villages and holding talks with the locals.Sources said that party has entrusted a big role for Pathuri Nagabhushanam in maneuvering the mood in the rival camp and polarise the voters in favour of the TDP.Pathuri, a native of Pedavadlapudi in Mangalagiri constituency, has wide contacts across the constituency.While working as the chairman of the zilla parishad, Pathuri used to take all the members including from the opposition Congress along with him to finalise the developmental works.Pathuri was the first leader to launch an NRI cell in the local body to seek financial support from Telugu Non-Resident Indians.Sources said that Pathuri had already roped in YSRCP leaders from several villages including Pedavadlapudi, Nidamarru, Nutakki, Duggirala, Kaza, Chinavadlapudi, China Kakani and Kuragallu.“Working for the party’s victory is my responsibility.
