When doctors dabble in politics to serve better

The YSRC MLA candidate from Palasa is also a general medicine practitioner while another MLA candidate from Palakonda in Srikakulam is an anaesthesiologist. Visakhapatnam: There are quite a few doctors contesting the 2019 elections from the north coastal Andhra region and almost all of them are contesting for the first time. So, being people’s representatives by entering politics will give us a better platform to address the issues. According to doctors, the ability to serve the public better encourages them to join politics and become people’s representatives.Interestingly, the MP candidates of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the YSR Congress (YSRC) from Anakapalli constituency are a surgeon and a gynaecologist, respectively. As doctors, we daily interact with people or patients and get to hear their inputs about various problems and issues.
