On learning of the accident, the police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to a government hospital at Madanapalli. The collector also advised students to start their journey to the examination centres early and reach safely without any hurry. Tirupati: Two class ten students were killed and seven others, including the driver, suffered severe injuries in a road accident at Kalicherla hamlet of Peddamandyam mandal in Chittoor district on Monday. While Srinivasulu died on the spot, his classmate Ramachandra died while being shifted to the hospital in a police vehicle.The injured students and driver were later shifted to Ruia and SVIMS hospital in Tirupati for better treatment. The police have registered a case and are investigating the exact reason for the accident.Meanwhile, district collector PS Pradyumna expressed shock over the accident and directed concerned education, medical and health officers to immediately reach the hospital to ensure better treatment of the injured.The collector also asked the police to file a case against the driver.
