SATTENAPALLE (GUNTUR): After successfully tiding over the initial rebellion within the party, assembly speaker and TDP nominee Dr Kodela Sivaprasada Rao has intensified the campaign to score his second successive victory from Sattenapalle assembly constituency . TDP cadres are jubilant as the party’s campaign is receiving positive response from the locals.The mood in the locals to support TDP had cleared the confusion in the party’s field level leaders prompting them to work more hard to improve the majority. Initially, party field level workers looked reluctant to be proactive in the campaign as they were skeptical about the party’s prospects. However, the situation looked changed in the last few days as Dr Kodela’s campaign catch up the momentum.It is in fact a big surprise for the local leaders to see locals coming out in open to extend wholehearted support to Dr Kodela Sivaprasada Rao in the coming elections. Setting a new trend, people in Muslim dominant colonies in the town vowed to back Dr Kodela in return of his support to their community. Interestingly, locals in Vavilala colony have also pledged to extend full support to Dr Kodela saying that he had transformed the constituency as a model segment.Sources said that youth leader Dr Kodela Sivaram had brought the things on to the track with his meticulous plan and strategy. With the assistance of some local party leaders, Dr Sivaram said to be negotiating with the prominent leaders in each and every village and seeking their support to TDP. Dr Sivaram’s quick response to resolve their grievances had not only brought many of the field level leaders into their kitty but also set a positive mood in the villages. His network and negotiations ability had tilted several of the influential leaders from different communities particularly from BC, Kapu, Muslim and SCs towards TDP. This is clearly rattling the opposition YSRCP camp.In fact, Dr Kodela won the last election with just 900 votes and everyone thought that this election could be tougher than the previous one. The surprise entry of former legislator Yerram Venkateswara Reddy as Janasena candidate has made the contest an interesting one as Reddy has clean image among the public. With local reddy leaders strongly opposing YSRCP candidate Ambati Rambabu, it has to be seen whether they would go with Venkateswara Reddy. In such case, Reddy is sure to play spoil sport particularly with Rambabu as Janasena is expected to garner majority of kapu votes. Since Rambabu hails from Kapu community, he is expected to be the big loser.
