Baahubali ticket prices soar to Rs 4,000 in AP, Telangana

VIJAYAWADA: On the eve of the release of 'Baahubali-2', fans on Thursday were caught in a frenzy, eager to watch their favourite actors on screen. With the High Court allowing screening of benefit shows of 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion', tickets for the sequel sold like hot cakes even as ticket prices soared to a high 3,500- 4,000.In Hyderabad, Warangal, Karimnagar, Mahbubnagar and other places in Telangana, the excitement was palpable. Long queues despite the scorching heat were visible outside theatres."Theatre owners are going in for dynamic pricing as the demand for benefit shows has increased gradually after the HC order. We purchased two tickets for 3,000 along with a combo offer for 11.30 pm show," said Ramakrishaiah , a fan of actor Prabhas from Nizamabad district.The craze around the mega film is so high that in AP some gas agencies were offering free tickets for those who avail themselves of new connections. Bharat Gas agency in Vijayawada started offering movie tickets for new customers since Wednesday. Another agency in Guntur came up with a similar offer.
