VIJAYAWADA: The "evil creative side' of some cheats came to light in Andhra Pradesh. They used a GO for recruitment of officials at various levels issued by the Telangana government to trap job aspirants. Telangana was replaced with Andhra Pradesh in the GO issued by Telangana on July 7 this year with obvious intention to lure unemployed youth to make some quick money. This fake GO being circulated by brokers, with an obvious motive to collect bribes from job aspirants, came to the notice of officials in the chief minister's office (CMO).The original GO was issued by the Telangana finance department secretary N Siva Shankar. The government order gave sanction for direct recruitment of 1506 officials including deputy collectors, deputy tehsiladars, etc. The recruitment was to be made through the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC).The cheats simply replaced Telangana with Andhra Pradesh and Telangana State Public Service Commission with Andhra Pradesh State Public Service Commission (APPSC). Wherever the name Telangana occurred was replaced carefully with AP However, the forgers made the mistake of not replacing the name N Siva Shankar, who signed the GO for Telangana, with that of his Andhra Pradesh counterpart. "Actually they would have continued the deception, if they had not overlooked this fact," said official. It was found that those who forged the GO were out to take job aspirants for a ride and make some neat money in the process. Officials say that this could have led to a big job racket if it was not nipped. However, officials said that it was not easy to find out the origin of the GO. No complaint has been registered in this connection.
