VIJAYAWADA: A farmer is serious, while two others are out of danger after they consumed pesticide in front of Nunna police station in Vijayawada on Wednesday. The farmers took the extreme step after police detained a group of peasants from Gampalagudem mandal in Krishna district when they were on their way to the state legislative assembly to demand compensation for the crop loss they had suffered in the last season.The farmers have been identified as G Ramaiah (60), B Naga Punnaiah (43) and V Tirupati Rao (25), residents of Penugolanu.
