This marks the beginning of the second phase of the L&T Hitech City Limited project, a joint venture floated by APIIC and L&T Infotech in 2007. Huge office space The new tower, which will come up adjacent to the existing tower Medha, will create an office space of four lakh square feet and can accommodate about 4,000 people, said Mr. Lokesh speaking at the ceremony. Mr. Lokesh asked the project owners to ensure that the tower is completed in next six months so that more companies can come in. “The government has set a target to provide one lakh job opportunities in the information technology sector and two lakh jobs in the manufacturing sector. More such facilities are going to come up in the State to accommodate more companies,” he said. Mr. Lokesh said that about one crore square feet of area is required to house companies that provide the one lakh jobs in the State. “The Medha IT tower which was vacant for many years has been filled with companies in the past eight months. Once the new tower is completed in six months, more companies will start functioning,” Mr. Lokesh said.
