‘Electric mobility will be the future’

He widely spoke about the lack of infrastructure to give fillip to the electric vehicles in India. Mr. Maini gave a detailed presentation about the electric vehicles evolution globally.

He was speaking at a session conducted by CII-Andhra Pradesh along with Young Indians (Yi Vizag) here. Mr. Maini gave a detailed presentation about the electric vehicles evolution globally. He spoke about the electric mobility and various challenges and opportunities it offered. He said China was the largest producer and user of electric buses globally. He widely spoke about the lack of infrastructure to give fillip to the electric vehicles in India. Though electric vehicles concept was started in India way back in the 1990s, it never got the push due to lack of infrastructure and friendly policies from the government. Later, Mr. Maini spoke about Rewa car, India’s first electric car. He narrated his journey while creating a revolution ahead of its time. CII AP manufacturing panel convener Neeraj Sarda in his opening address spoke about the importance of the disruption the electric vehicles is going to cause to the industry. He spoke about the impact of the electric vehicles in the automobile sector. Regional chair of Yi (South India) Poonam Shah Srinath proposed a vote of thanks.
