The chimpanzees had come to the zoo from a zoo in Israel in 2016 and attract good number of visitors. The zoo had three chimpanzees, and they are now left with two — the mother chimp and Chiko’s sister Chikita. Zoo sources said the chimpanzee had died of myocardial infraction (cardiac failure). Chiko, the 21-year-old male chimpanzee, died in the Indira Gandhi Zoological Park, here on Wednesday. With great difficulty the zoo authorities were able to capture the siblings.
